"Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh antara efektifitas dewan komisaris dan direksi terhadap nilai perusahaan dengan menggunakan ukuran PBV. Kriteria efektifitas dewan komisaris dan direksi diwakili oleh variabel komposisi dewan, fungsi dewan, dan penilaian mandiri dewan. Penelitian ini menggunakan sampel sebanyak 34 perusahaan BUMN yang terdaftar di IDX untuk tahun penelitian 2005 - 2008 dengan menggunakan motode analisis regresi berganda. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian dapat disimpulkan bahwa variabel komposisi dewan komisaris dan direksi tidak berpengaruh terhadap nilai perusahaan. Variabel fungsi dewan komisaris dan direksi terbukti berpengaruh positif terhadap nilai perusahaan. Namun variabel evaluasi mandiri dewan berpengaruh negatif terhadap PBV

The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of board effectiveness on firm value measured using PBV. Board effectiveness is represented by variable board composition, board function, and board self evaluation. The Sample consist of 34 BUMN companies listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2005 - 2008, using multiple regression.

The result of this study show that the board composition do not have significant effect on the value of the firm. While, board function significantly have positive effect on the value of the firm. But board self evaluation have significant and negative effect on PBV."
