"ABSTRACT

"Bringing a unique voice to international taxation, this book argues against the conventional support of multilateral co-operation in favour of structured competition as a way to promote both justice and efficiency in international tax policy. Tsilly Dagan analyzes international taxation as a decentralized market, where governments have increasingly become strategic actors. While many of the challenges of the current international tax regime derive from this decentralized competitive structure, Dagan argues that curtailing competition through centralization is not necessarily the answer. Conversely, competition - if properly calibrated and notwithstanding its dubious reputation - is conducive, rather than detrimental, to both efficiency and global justice. International Tax Policy begins with the basic normative goals of income taxation, explaining how competition transforms them and analyzing the strategic game states play on the bilateral and multilateral level. It then considers the costs and benefits of co-operation and competition in terms of efficiency and justice."

"In Malay/Indonesian, when certain predicates such as "want" are followed by a passive verb, an ambiguity arises about who has the desire and other attitudes in question. The attitude-holder can be either the surface subject or the passive agent. This article critically assesses the data and claims presented in three recent studies (Mike Berger 2019; Paul Kroeger and Kristen Frazier 2020; Helen Jeoung 2020) through consideration of additional data. It shows that the ambiguity is empirically robust, contrary to the doubts expressed by Jeoung, and that the restructuring analysis advocated by the latter two studies has problems with its primary evidence: alternate voice marking realization. Instead, the paper confirms the previous understanding of the construction, including a bi-clausal structure with a dyadic matrix predicate and the importance of voice marking. Methodologically, it demonstrates that linguistic evidence should come from multiple sources, that is, not from elicitation or texts alone but from both of these (and perhaps more)."

ABSTRACT
This study investigates the relationship between voice efficacy and psychological safety with employee voice behavior and the role of subordinate perceptions of supervisor’s ethical behavior as a moderator to voice efficacy- employee voice behavior relationship. Employee voice behavior was measured using the scale developed by Van Dyne and LePine (1998), psychological safety was measured by scale developed by Edmondson’s (1999), and subordinate perceptions of supervisor’s ethical leadership was measured using Ethical Leadership Scale (Brown, Treviño, & Harrison, 2005). The analysis using 244 peer-reported employee voice behavior data from Direktorat Jenderal Y shows that voice efficacy is related to employee voice behavior (𝛽=0,139;𝑝<0,05). The results also show that there is no relationship between psychological safety and employee voice behavior(𝛽=0,006;𝑝>0,05), neither the subordinate perceptions of supervisor’s ethical behavior moderates relationship between voice efficacy and employee voice behavior (𝛽=−0,108;𝑝>0,05). Moreover, 7,3% variance of employee voice behavior can be explained by the research model. From the theoretical side, this research suggests future research to consider longitudinal design and controlling for more employee voice behavior related factors. From the managerial side, this research suggests the Human Resource Management to establish the organization design and coaching that enables employee voice behavior., This study investigates the relationship between voice efficacy and psychological safety with employee voice behavior and the role of subordinate perceptions of supervisor’s ethical behavior as a moderator to voice efficacy- employee voice behavior relationship. "The research was concerned with creating a device for vocal signal monitoring based on microcontroller
application. The device was implemented to monitor the vocal signal in order to prevent a negative
impact so called voice disorder. The availability of a device for vocal signal monitoring can be a benefit
to the concerned users. The principal work was creating a suitable logger system, including software and
hardware parts. The hardware part consists of logger system, conditioning circuitry, and power circuitry.
The data obtained from the microcontroller was analyzed off-line using MATLAB. The device was
organized to work in both normal and calibration modes. The analysis consisted of Sound Pressure Level
(SPL) calibration and fundamental frequency (f0) estimation which are the most important parameters
used in voice monitoring systems. According to the experiment, the calibration constant K was 1.76 Pa/V
(0.12% standard deviation) and error average of the ECM was -1.8 dB (4.6 dB standard deviation)
compared to the reference microphone.Collaboration works between engineers and physicians are
advisable for a correct use of the estimated parameters."

The information today is not only limited in the form of text documents, but also in the form of spoken documents. The growing number of those spoken documents requires the information retrieval techniques to make the retrieval process easier. The approach for spoken documents retrieval is using automatic speech recognition (ASR). However, the results of the speech recognition by ASR are not entirely correct, so reduce the level of accuracy of information retrieval of spoken documents. This experiment uses four types results of the speech recognition by ASR, the 1-best output, n-best output, n-best pronunciation output, word posterior lattice. In addition, this experiment also investigates the effect of the use of query types (phrase, single word and sentence). Results obtained from this experiment concluded that the use of 1-best output on spoken document retrieval produces better performance results than the use of other results of the speech recognition. Mean Average Precision (MAP) results of experiments with 1-best output is 0.64% higher than the use of n-best output, 8.88% higher than the use of word posterior lattice and 92.68% higher than the use of n-best pronunciation output. In phrase based query experiment, the best accuracy is word posterior lattice while the best accuracy in single word query and sentence query is n-best word output."
