"Virus HPV-16 merupakan salah satu faktor etiologi dari karsinoma sel skuamosa rongga mulut (KSSRM). Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeteksi infeksi HPV-16 pada karsinoma sel skuamosa rongga mulut pasien di Rumah Sakit Kanker Dharmais Jakarta tahun 2003 - 2013. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah 49 jaringan KSSRM dalam bentuk formalin fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE). Untuk ekstraksi DNA digunakan mini kit DNA TaKaRa DEXPAT TM. Untuk mendeteksi HPV-16 digunakan metode PCR konvensional dengan primer spesifik HPV - 16 E7 region, dengan target amplifikasi pada 196 bp. Hasil menunjukkan enam (12,24%) dari 49 sampel KSSRM terdeteksi HPV-16.

HPV-16 has been known as one of the etiologies of oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC). The aim of this study was to detect the involvement of HPV-16 infection in oral squamous cell carcinoma patients of Jakarta Dharmais Cancer Hospital period 2003- 2013. Samples in this study were 49 formalin fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) spesimens of OSCC patients. DNA isolation was performed using TaKaRa DEXPAT TM DNA mini kit. HPV-16 was genotyped using conventional PCR method with specific primers of HPV-16 E7 region at 196 bp amplification target. Result showed six (12,24%) of 49 samples of OSCC were detected to be HPV-16 positive."
