"ABSTRAKHistorians accept the death of oral sources, but expect newspaper archives in state institutions to be available for ever. Yet the majority of Indonesian newspaper titles in the National Library are today endangered. These crumbling papers are often the only copy in the world. This article first reviews the role these archives have played in pathbreaking historical work, both Indonesian and foreign. Provincial newspapers record the chatter of a new, literate middle class that emerged in the middle of the tumultuous twentieth century. Indonesian historiography is transformed by the many surprises scholars experience when reading their lives there. When those sources turn to dust, historical research dies. This will affect not just specialized historians, but social scientists in many fields. The article then maps quantitatively the extent to which these papers are endangered. It finally urges the social science community as a whole to campaign to save them through comprehensive digitization."

"Penelitian ini membahas preservasi kuratif arsip berbahan dasar kertas tentang bagaimana kegiatan preservasi kuratif dimulai dari persiapan, pelaksanaan, sampai evaluasi. Penelitian ini difokuskan pada kegiatan restorasi arsip konvensional dengan metode manual system di Arsip Nasional Republik Indonesia. Metodologi penelitian yang digunakan ialah studi kasus, penelitian ini dimulai dari observasi kemudian dilanjutkan dengan wawancara mendalam di Arsip Nasional Republik Indonesia. Hasil penelitian ini dibagi menjadi tiga bagian yaitu persiapan kegiatan restorasi arsip konvesional, pelaksanaan kegiatan restorasi arsip konvensional dan evaluasi kegiatan restorasi arsip konvensional. Persiapan kegiatan restorasi arsip konvensional terdiri dari persiapan peralatan dan bahan restorasi arsip. Pelaksanaan kegiatan restorasi arsip konvensional terdiri dari penomeran, pemeriksaan, pembersihan, deasidifikasi, perbaikan arsip dengan sistem laminasi menggunakan tisu jepang atau tisu lokal, proses sizing menggunakan methil sellulosa, proses pengeringan, pelepasan plastik astralon, pemotongan, pengepresan dan penyusunan kembali arsip. Evaluasi kegiatan restorasi arsip konvensional merupakan kontrol kualitas hasil restorasi arsip berupa serangkain pengujian terhadap arsip baik secara fisik maupun kimia."

"ABSTRAKDalam menjaga nilai informasi dari sebuah arsip, perlu dilakukan tindakan pelestarian dengan metode tertentu. Fotografi sebagai sebuah arsip yang memiliki nilai informasi perlu mendapatkan perlakuan khusus mengingat sifat fotografi yang berbeda dengan arsip lainnya. Oleh karena itu diperlukan langkah khusus dan prosedur yang tepat guna menjaga nilai informasi yang terdapat dalam arsip fotografi. Pusat Dokumentasi dan Informasi Kebudayaan Minangkabau (PDIKM) sebagai salah satu lembaga informasi merupakan lembaga yang berperan dalam upaya preservasi arsip fotografi yang ada pada lembaga tersebut. Berdasarkan teori Piramida Preservasi yang mencakup preventive conservation, passive conservation, active conservation, dan restoration, penulis ingin melihat komponen apa yang telah dilakukan atau belum dilakukan oleh PDIKM dalam mempreservasi koleksi fotografi. Serta berdasarkan fungsionalitas PDIKM yang juga menjadi objek wisata, juga terdapat komponen preservasi yang kurang diperhatikan dan perlu ditingkatkan yang meliputi kebijakan preservasi, anggaran preservasi, pencatatan secara berkala kondisi lingkungan tenpat penyimpanan fotografi, serta kegiatan restorasi.

Photography as an archive which contains information value needs to be treated with some special treatment considering the trait of photography that is different from other archives. "ABSTRAKDalam pengelolaan arsip statis di Arsip Nasional Republik Indonesia ANRI terdapat direktorat atau bagian - bagian yang saling berhubungan satu sama lainnya. Bagian ini terletak di salah satu Deputi yaitu bidang Konservasi arsip di ANRI. Direktorat tersebut yaitu bagian Akuisisi, Pengolahan, Preservasi / Penyimpanan dan Layanan. Jika akses arsip statis sudah tersedia di bagian layanan, maka arsip siap untuk disajikan kepada pengguna. Di dalam melayani arsip kepada pengguna tak jarang memiliki suatu masalah dan kendala yang dihadapi oleh layanan. Permasalahan yang muncul adalah: 1 Pengguna arsip sering kecewa dengan lamanya proses peminjaman arsip, 2 Pengguna arsip sering mengalami kesulitan dalam mencari kode klasifikasi katalog arsip yang tersedia di komputer, 3 pengguna arsip sering mengalami kesulitan dalam menemukan kode arsip 4 Pengguna arsip sering kecewa dengan lamanya proses penggandaan arsip yang bisa lebih dari satu hari, 5 Pengguna arsip sering mengeluh tentang tingginya biaya pengkopian atau penggandaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi, menggambarkan manajemen pengelolaan arsip di ANRI sehingga dapat melihat hambatan apa yang dihadapi dalam pengelolaan arsip di ANRI dan hubungannya dengan kualitas layanan publik di ANRI. Metode penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan Studi Kasus. Metode pengumpulan data yaitu purposive sampling. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara mendalam terstruktur, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Informan dalam penelitian ini adalah arsiparis, Kepala Subdirektorat Pengolahan Arsip I, pengguna Arsip. Hasil penelitian menyarankan bahwa ANRI perlu meningkatkan semua direktorat terkait dalam pengelolaan arsip statis dengan menyempurnakan pelaksanaan ISO 9001: 2015, kepada semua direktorat yang berada di bawah deputi bidang konservasi arsip. Hal itu dikarenakan masih ada satu direktorat yang belum mendapat ISO adalah direktorat Akuisisi. Selain itu diharapkan ANRI memelihara dan mengembangkan SIKS Sistem Informasi Kearsipan Statis yang berbasis online dan mulai diuji tahun ini dan telah diterapkan untuk per unit bagian dari ANRI dan terintegrasi dengan bagian akuisisi sampai dengan layanan.Kata Kunci: Arsip Statis; Manajemen Kearsipan; Pelayanan Publik.

ABSTRACT AbstractIn the management of static archives in the National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia ANRI there are directorates or parts that are interconnected with each other. This section is located in one of the Deputy namely the Conservation of archives in ANRI. The Directorate is part of Acquisition, Processing, Preservation Storage and Services. If static archive access is already available in the service section, then the archive is ready to be presented to the user. In serving the archives to users often have a problem and constraints faced by the service. The problems that arise are 1 Archive users are often disillusioned with the length of the archiving process, 2 Archive users often have difficulty in finding the archive catalog classification codes available on the computer, 3 archival users often have difficulty finding archive codes 4 Archive users are often disappointed with the length of the duplicate archive process that can be more than one day, 5 Archive users often complain about the high cost of copying or duplication. This study aims to identify, describe the management of archives in ANRI so it can see what obstacles faced in the management of archives in ANRI and its relationship with the quality of public services in ANRI. This research method is qualitative with Case Study approach. Data collection method is purposive sampling. Data were obtained through structured in depth interviews, observation, and documentation. Informant in this research is archivist, Head of Subdirektorat Pengolahan Arsip I, user of Archive. The results suggest that ANRI needs to improve all relevant directorates in the management of static archives by improving the implementation of ISO 9001 2015, to all directorates who are under the archive conservation deputy. That is because there is still one directorate that has not got ISO is the Acquisition directorate. In addition, ANRI is expected to maintain and develop a SIKS Static Information Filing System Static based online and began to be tested this year and has been applied to per unit part of ANRI and integrated with the acquisition section up to the service.Keywords Archives Management Archive Static Public Service"

"Skripsi ini membahas tentang penerapan persyaratan fungsional Sistem Elektronik Kearsipan Universitas Indonesia (SEKAR UI) di Unit Kearsipan FISIP UI. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasikan apakah SEKAR UI telah memenuhi persyaratan fungsional. Persyaratan fungsional tersebut terdiri dari fungsi registrasi, akses, pelacakan, penyusutan, dan pelaporan-statistik. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi partisipasi dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara umum SEKAR UI telah memenuhi persyaratan fungsional, terutama pada bagian registrasi dan akses. Penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa Unit Kearsipan FISIP UI telah dapat mengimplementasikan aplikasi tersebut dengan baik.

This thesis discusses about the implementation of functional requirements of Sistem Elektronik Kearsipan Universitas Indonesia (SEKAR UI) at Archival Unit of FISIP UI. The purpose of this research is to identify whether SEKAR UI has met the functional requirements. That functional requirements covers: registration, access, tracking, retention, and report-statistic. This research used qualitative studies with case study method. The researcher used participant observation and interviews to collect data. The results of this study indicate that overall SEKAR UI has met the functional requirements, especially in registration and access. The study also shows that Archival Unit of FISIP UI has been able to implement these applicationn properly."

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana kegiatan pengawetan arsip rekaman suara yang diterapkan di bidang Kearsipan dan Museum Sekretariat Jenderal & BK DPR RI, upaya apa saja yang dilakukan untuk pengawetan arsip rekaman suara, serta kendala yang dihadapi. berpengalaman dalam mengawetkan arsip rekaman suara. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, dengan metode penelitian studi kasus. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan mengamati dan mewawancarai beberapa informan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan yang dilakukan dalam pengawetan arsip rekaman suara berupa media transfer dan scanning. Upaya pelestarian arsip meliputi upaya preventif (pencegahan) dan kuratif (perbaikan), serta kendala yang dihadapi dalam pengawetan arsip rekaman suara.
