"This research is abaout the implementation of record manager?s role Engineering Faculty of Indonesian University (FTUI). It is qualitative approach with study case method to comprehend record management process at FTUI being conducted. The result shows that
the roles of record manager are played by faculty secretary and general manager whom they both manage the record based on their knowledge and experiences. It shows also among the staff whom conducting the practical of record managing. The implementation
of record manager?s role in managing Engineering Faculty of Indonesian University?s record comprehended as symbolic role. It
means that structurally in UI record management is on faculty secretary but in fact record management done by general manager.
Penelitian ini merupakan pelaksanaan peran rekor manajer Fakultas Teknik Universitas Indonesia (FTUI).Penelitian ini menggunakan
pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus untuk memahami proses manajemen catatan di FTUI sedang dilakukan. Hasil
penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peran manajer rekaman yang dimainkan oleh sekretaris fakultas dan general manager yang mereka berdua mengelola catatan berdasarkan pengetahuan dan pengalaman mereka. Ini menunjukkan juga di antara staf yang
melakukan pengelolaan arsip. Pelaksanaan peran rekor manajer dalam mengelola Fakultas Teknik rekor Universitas Indonesia ini dipahami sebagai peran simbolis. Ini berarti bahwa secara struktural di UI catatan manajemen adalah pada sekretaris
fakultas tapi dalam manajemen catatan sebenarnya dilakukan oleh general manager.

"Penciptaan arsip dinamis (rekod) dalam kegiatan Pemerintah Propinsi DKI Jakarta cukup banyak jumlahnya Organisasi kearsipan Pemerintah Propinsi DKI diatur dalam Satminkal yang merupakan pusat kegiatan administrasi Pemerintah DKI Jakarta Di seluruh DKI terdapat 452 Satminkal besar atau kecil. Sebagai contoh Satminkal yang besar adalah Biro Umum yang menangani persuratan di dalam lingkungan kegiatan Sekretaris Daerab Pemerintah Propinsi DKI. Penerimaan surat tiap harinya pada setiap Satminkal tersantung kepada lugs tidaknya kegiatan Saiminkal tersebut dan wewenang dari unit kerja Sebagai eontoh Satminkal di bawah Sekretaris Daereh Propinsi yang terpusat kepada Biro Umum setup harinya menerima surat masuk sejumlah lebih dari 100 surat, sedangkan Satminkal Kotamadya Jakarta Pusat dengan Induk Tata Usaha (ITU) berada pada bagian umum setiap harinya menerima antara 50 sampai 100 surat Dengan jumlah Satminkal di DKI sebanyak 452, dapat dibayangkan berapa jumlah surat masuk setiap harinya.
Kondisi ini membuat kegiatan administrasi memerlukan kegiatan penyusutan arsip dinamis (rekod) yang disimpan baik di ITU maupun di Cabang Tata Usaha (CTU). Kegiatan penyusutan arsip dinamis (rekod) telah diatur dalam PP No.34 Tahun 1979 yang kemudian diambil alih dan diperjelas oleh Pemerintah Propinsi DKI Jakarta dengan Keputuean Gubernur Propinsi DKI Jakarta No.100 Tahun 1994 tentang "Daftar Jadwal Retensi Arsip". Tesis ini mengadakan penelitian tentang bagaimana "Daftar Jadwal Retensi Arsip tahun 1994" dimanfaatkan dalam kegiatan administrasi DKI. Hasil analisa atau kuesioner yang diedarkan, memperlihatkan bahwa pemanfaatan "Daftar Jadwal Retensi Arsip DKI Tahun 1994" belum sepenuhnva dilaksanakan oleh seluruh karyawan khususnya pelaksana kearsipan di lingkungan Pemerintah Propinsi DKI Jakarta.
Bahwa retensi, penyusutan, pemindahan dan pemusnahan arsip dinamis (rekod) memang sudah berjalan tetapi kegiatan ini merupakan hasil pengenalan karyawan semi petunjuk dari atasan kepada staf dan dilaksanakan menurut suatu rutinitas sehari-hari. Karena itu penulis mengusulkan agar pembinaan terhadap karyawan dan pejabal yang langsung menangani kearsipan perlu diperkenalkan kepada "Daftar Jadwal Retensi Arsip DKI Tahun 1994" meskipun menurut pendapat dari beberapa orang pejabat dan pelaksana kearsipan "Daftar Jadwal Retensi" itu masih memerlukan revisi.

The volume of public records produced in the DKI Jakarta Province tivities is quite well in numbered. The DKI archival organization was administrated in Satminkal (Satuan Adininistrasi Pangkat) which became the central administative activities of DKI Jakarta Governement. There are 452 Satminkal. either big or small in DKI Jakarta. As on example, one of the biggest Satminkal is "Biro Umum (Public Bureau) that manages the correspondense in the whole secretarial activities of DKI Province. The daily papers acceptance in each Satminkal depends on the extent of eat-h Satminkal activities and based on the remt authority. As an Province Secretariate which is centralized on Biro Umum, accepts more than 100 letters everyday; whereas the Satminkal of the central Jakarta regency with Induk Tata Usaha on Bagian Umum receives 50 to 100 papers. With the number of 452 Satminkal in DKI Province we can imagine how many letters are received everyday.
This condition makes the administrative activities need record disposition which are stored in ITU as wel as in CTU. The record disposition activities had been arranged on Peraturan Pemerintah Nomor 34 Tahun 1979, later taken over and clarified by the DKI Government by the "Keputusan Gubernur I]KI Nomor 144, Tahun 1994 concerning the "Daftar Jadwal Retensi Arsip tahun 1994". a theori was based on a research to get an answer how for the "Daftar Jadwal Retensi Arsip Tahun 1994" was implemented in DKI Jakarta Administrative activities especially the Personnel Recordn. The result of the analizes based on the questioners given, show us that the use of "Daftar Jadwal Retensi Arsip Tahun 1994" hadn't been fall carried out by the staff: especially the archival staff within the DK1 Province Government.
The record retensi disposition and destruction had been accomplished though they were done as an routine in accordance with the manager instruction to the staff Therefore it is suggested to provide or arrange training relating to records management to them, the archive staff and the archival leaders. If the "Daftar Jadwal Retensi Arsip Tahun 1994" is still to be used as a code of ethies for disposition records of DK1 Province Government archieves, it must be acknowledge to the staff the archivists, the archival leader, the managers, the users in the whole provinciee of DKI Jakarta.
The importance thing to be noticed by the DKI Government is the "Cap Retensi" which should be placed on each letter received. In the Archival General regulation, the disposition records must be done bundle per bundle instead of peace per peace, based on the records retensi schedules and controls or records disposition. Because of it, each letter accepted must be place in one care and together with the unit, reduced."

"Tesis ini membahas pembinaan kearsipan dalam kerangka konsep sosialisasi organisasi yang dikaitkan dengan birokrasi dalam organisasi pemerintahan, serta bagaimana pemaknaan pembinaan kearsipan tersebut bagi individu yang terlibat di dalamnya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian studi kasus dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara terhadap penyelenggara maupun peserta pembinaan kearsipan. Hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa pembinaan kearsipan merupakan produk ekspresi budaya individu yang bukan hanya pelaksanaan kebijakan tertulis tetapi juga kebijakan budaya para individu terkait. Pembinaan kearsipan juga merupakan bentuk negosiasi individu terhadap permasalahan yang terjadi selama pembinaan kearsipan berlangsung. Individu memaknai pembinaan kearsipan tidak hanya sebagai pelaksanaan tugas dan tanggung jawabnya bagi organisasi tetapi juga sebagai rekreasi atau hiburan di mana dalam pelaksanaannya terdapat berbagai kepentingan.

The focus of this study is the archival coaching in an organizational socialization conceptual framework associated with the bureaucracy of governmental organization, also the meaning of the archival coaching by everyone involved in it. This research is a case study with qualitative approach. The data were collected by means of deep interview with the organizers and participants of the archival coaching. The research shows that archival coaching is a product of cultural expression held by individual, not only as an implementation of the archival policy but also the cultural policy of the individual. Archival coaching is also a form of individual negotiation to overcome the problems that occur during the archival coaching were being held. Individuals interpret the archival coaching not only as the implementation of their responsibility but also as a recreation where there are various interests.

"The problems of irregular inactive records to be completed if the inactive record management can run well and are supported by adequate infrastructure. A mens of supporting the smooth management of inactive records are records center. With the archive inactive records center to be more efficient and archive issues will be resolved as chaotic inactive storage can be centralized and controlled. In addition the management of inactive records will be olderly and not chaotic if archive root causes chaotic it resolved that since the active archive must have a pattern thet is uniform classification of the unit cretaor archives, the existence of human resorces in the field of archive/archivists, at the shrinkage in the central file can be run so that when the file is moved to inactive records center will be the same classification code, records in olderly condition, there is news of the handover, there is a list of archives and records thet will be needed when it can be recovered quicly and efficiently right effective. To achieve these objectives should be supported by all parties, unit leader, archivist, records managers, and equally important is to be supported by infrastructure adequate funding and sufficient."

"The role of record and archives management has existed for a long time, even before the birth of the State of Indonesia, precisely the Dutch colonial period. During the VOC period, archives in the Nusantara archipelago merely refers to the custom prevailing in the Dutch archives system, namely the enactment of the agenda system. When the period of Hindia Belanda Government, archival law was created in the Netherlands and its colonies. It's Koninklijk belsuit van den, 4 September 1823 number 7. in the republic period shown three Act in three area. First one is Presidential Regulation number 19/1961 or Act Prps. Number 19/1961 about principles of the National Archives, in the Old era; second the Act number 7/1971 about basic provisions archives in the new era; third the Act number 43/2009 about record-archives management in Reform era.
